Q: Why have I not heard of you before?

A: We mainly work from referral but have only just recently decided to advertise our services.

Q: How much does your service cost?

A: We charge £25 for the first half hour and £15 per half hour thereafter

Q: This sounds expensive for a small job?

A: We only charge in ½ hour segments, but a daily rate is only £180 so we end up nearly 50% cheaper than most tradesmen.

Q: Does this include materials?

A: No. This is labour only. If you need us to supply materials we will charge you cost plus a 10% handling fee backed up by original receipts.

Q: Do you do free estimates?

A: Most jobs can be priced over the phone but should we have any doubt as to the length of time or charge we can supply an estimate.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes! All of the HandyMan Team hold full £1,000,000 public liability insurance.

Q: Will I have to wait weeks or months from my booking?

A: The Dick’ll Do It promise is that we will cover all jobs within a 5 day time scale.

Q: What if I need you in the middle of the night?

A: We are not a 24-hour service and carry out our work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. If you require the HandyMan out of hours there is an additional £5 per half hour charge. Sunday work is charged at double time.

Q: What if I can’t be there to let you in?

A: We will arrange for a Key Collection Service so you don’t have to miss any time at work. There is a small additional charge of £15.00 for this service if you are within a 5 mile radius.

Q: Do you have any CORGI registered engineers?

A: No but we can recommend several quality firms.

Q: Will I have to wait in all day for your handyman to show up?

A: All of Dick’s HandyMen are fully mobile and have access to a company mobile phone. If we find that we are running late we will contact you at the first opportunity to revise the arrival time.

Q: How big a job can you take on?

A: We only cover jobs from half an hour to 2 days. After that we would recommend a specialist tradesman. A comprehensive list of these can be found in the links section.

Q: What areas do you cover?

A: We generally cover a 15 miles radius from Lisburn City center which includes Belfast, Newtownabbey, Greenisland, Holywood, Dundonald, Castlereagh, Carryduff, Annahilt, Hillsborough, Dromara, Dromore, Warringstown, Lurgan, Portadown, Craigavon, Aghalee, Ballinderry and Crumlin.

Q: How can I pay?

A: We accept all major credit cards, Switch personal cheques and cash

Q: Do you do office work?

A: Yes, a large part of our business is looking after Landlords, Offices, shops etc, as they too need the fixed pricing of the HandyMan's services.
